> Acer palmatum dissectum Crimson Queen
The dissectum range of Japanese maples are generally weeping or cascading with fine deeply divided foliage. Crimson Queen is a stunnining selection with deep red foliage that keeps its colour well into summer.
Japanese maples generally enjoy a sunny sheltered spot in any garden with good well-drained soil. A good organic mulch will help to keep the roots cool and moist during the hot dry spells experienced over the summer months. Trees can be clipped to form dense solid trees or pruned judiciously to create light dappled shade. To increase the height of a weeping maple you can select a strongly growing branch in spring and stake it upright to the desired height.
Weeping Japanese Maples are a vesatile and hardy tree for almost any form of garden. They are equally at home in a tropical setting, cottage garden, or even amongst natives as a foil or feature. The weeping maple makes a great tub or planter subject. Mass plant for a bold effect where space allows or plant individually as a feature or focal point.
