This is one of the best new varieties of magnolia to arrive in our nursery for many years. Genie truly is magic! Small goblet shaped deep burgandy red flowers smother the tree in spring with a second flush of flowers appearing in summer.The crisp green folliage remains clean all summer and the tree maintains a good vigorous upright habit while young.
Magnolia Genie will grow trouble free in almost any garden situation. Keep the roots cool and moist during the hot summer months with a good layer of organic mulch.
Genie can be left bushy right to the ground or be pruned up onto a straight sturdy single stem. Because Genie is naturally columnar it can be used where space is limited as a sentry or be planted as a spectacular lawn specimen.
