This extremely fast growing tree has found fame and popularity amongst those who are keen to gain privacy from neighbours or hide unsightly views in the shortest possible time! Large lacy dark green compound leaves emerge directly from stout upright stems. A few white trumpet flowers are produced in the terminal growths of mature trees.

Radermachera often grows quickly with multiple stems and responds well to frequent pruning. It can be cut back almost to ground level to encourage fresh new growth and vigour, thinned out to create dappled shade, or left to form a small canopy on top of tall stems.

Radermachera is a useful tree where height is important and space is limited. The Canton lace will grow happily against buildings to soften harsh exteriors or hide and screen unwanted views.
