Trees > Magnolia grandiflora Ferruginea
Magnolia grandiflora Ferruginea is one of the best known selections of this North American evergreen tree. This classic cultivar is prized for its dense canopy of leaves, bright glossy green on the top, with coppery brown undersides. Large showy white scented flowers over the summer months are an added bonus.
Evergreen Magnolias require plenty of moisture over the dry summer months particularly if planted in open windy sites. Pruning if required is best performed in early spring before new growth emerges.
As a large tree the evergreen Magnolia is best planted with plenty of space and makes an ideal lawn specimen or street tree.
